Project partners
The AllerShield partnership brings together leading institutions from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro with complementary expertise in public health, environmental protection, biodiversity conservation and scientific research.
Joint approach
Through a multidisciplinary and cross-border approach, the partners develop innovative solutions for monitoring air quality and allergenic pollen concentrations, with a particular focus on invasive plant species and their impact on human health and ecosystems.
Long-term value
The collaboration strengthens regional capacities for environmental monitoring, data sharing and evidence-based decision-making, creating a foundation for long-term cooperation, innovation and knowledge exchange.

LP1 (IPH) is a small public organization (158 employees). It was founded in this professional form in 1984. IPH is organized through eight departments: epidemiology, microbiology, public health, health ecology and an environmental protection, school medicine, mental health and drug addiction prevention.

PP1 - Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska
The Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska (IPERS) is a leading scientific research institution dedicated to the protection of working and living environments and the improvement of public health. Established in 1976, IPERS has a strong track record in conducting basic, applied, and developmental research of strategic importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is also the first institution in the country to begin air quality monitoring in 1984 in Banja Luka, and the first nationally accredited laboratory for air monitoring in accordance with the ISO 17025 standard.

PP2 - Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro
Since its establishment in 2008, the Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro (EPA Montenegro) has been responsible, among other duties, for preparing proposals for environmental monitoring programmes. This includes monitoring all major environmental components, such as air quality (including monitoring and analysis of airborne pollen), marine ecosystems, greenhouse gas inventories, waste and soil, biodiversity, noise, water quality, and environmental pressures regulated by specific legislation.
