Cross-border monitoring platform, joint strategy and action plan for air quality and allergenic plant management.

Main outputs

Developed and implemented air quality Monitoring platform accessible to general population, created joint Strategy and Action plan of prevention of further spread of allergenic plants.

The originality of the project lies precisely in the innovative technology through the creation of the monitoring platform. Result distribution will provide real time information to citizens/allergy sufferers/agriculturists thus enabling increased life quality of a sensitive group of citizens to air pollution, easier maintenance of agricultural areas, increase of agricultural yields and reduction of negative effects of invasive species on nature, biodiversity, agriculture and health in the project area.

Result 1

PPs will create new innovative cross border solution for air quality monitoring. New solution will enhance the security in programme area related to air quality. New monitoring platform will be available online to general public and all interested stakeholders such as local public authorities, interest groups, NGOs, hospitals and medical centres. It will also support decisions on elaboration of environmental strategies for regional and local authorities (policymakers) and will be valuable form of information for doctors and medical personnel in allergy preventive treatments. All interested stakeholders will be able to share the link on their websites. They will be informed about the platform mainly through workshops, presentations organised in their venues, final conference and media. Platform will also be presented outside the programme area on international conferences.

Result 2

PPs will create Joint Action plan for monitoring of air quality in project area for the local decision makers on project area on the strategies to lower impact of climate change and potential air pollutants on air quality. Thanks to this joint solution proposal, together with the development of a digital platform for monitoring air pollution in the project area, there will be positive effects on local government decision-makers.

Various stakeholders will benefit from this Action plan after the project implementation in order to lead to a gradual improvement in policies. It will also be shared with international aerobiology network in order to emphasize the need for unifying the EU legislation on air quality which should include biological particles (allergenic pollen grains and spores) into the EU regulations.
